Conventional rail transfer carts can only travel in a straight line forward and backward along fixed rails. In certain industrial production scenarios where rail trolleys are mandatory, cross-area transportation or direction switching poses major logistical challenges for rail-based transport solutions. Trackless transfer carts can address these issues, yet rail carts retain unique strengths: heavy-duty, high-frequency and highly stable operation. To resolve such transportation bottlenecks, we have upgraded and optimized traditional rail trolleys with expanded functionality and smarter automation, developing a full range of automated rail transfer equipment including mother-daughter shuttle carts, cross-longitudinal rail transfer carts and turning rail trolleys. The cross & longitudinal rail trolley is the most widely adopted automated rail vehicle model. It can switch and travel between two or multiple sets of longitudinal and transverse rails. Optional customizable functions such as fork arms, lifting mechanisms, conveyor lines and roller racks can be integrated. For modern production workshops, the cart can connect to the full automated conveying system and receive signals from upper-level control computers. Electric sparks, high temperature and mechanical friction generated by ordinary electric transfer carts during operation may easily trigger explosions and cause serious accidents. The cross & longitudinal rail flat cart consists of a vehicle frame, driving wheel sets, motor reducers, control system and brakes.

1.Vehicle Frame

The frame is constructed of channel steel with a box beam structure, composed of 2 longitudinal box girders and multiple cross beams. The spacing of cross beams complies with design requirements, and the quantity of cross beams is determined by the frame length. The cart body adopts high-quality structural steel with a rationally arranged structure and firm welds free of visible defects, delivering sufficient load-bearing and anti-deformation capacity. All assemblies are installed inside the frame without abnormal protrusions on the exterior surface. Lifting lugs with sufficient structural strength are fitted around the cart perimeter to facilitate maintenance and shipment.

2.Wheel Sets

Cast steel wheels made of ZG55 cast steel; wheel treads undergo high-frequency quenching with hardness ranging from 300 to 380 HBW.

3.Coating Process

Prior to painting, the cart undergoes rust removal to eliminate surface attachments, grease and contaminants. One coat of anti-rust primer and two coats of topcoat are applied to achieve a uniform paint finish.

4.Safety Warning & Emergency Stop

Travel warning lights are installed on the cart and activate corresponding to the direction of travel. Emergency stop buttons are equipped at all four corners.

5.Photoelectric Obstacle Avoidance Sensors

Photoelectric detection anti-collision devices are mounted on both ends of the cart. The vehicle automatically halts upon detecting obstacles and resumes travel once the obstruction is removed.

6.Operation Modes

Dual control modes: wireless remote control + on-board wired control pendant. Control buttons include forward, reverse, rail switching, start and stop.

7.Standard Electrical Protection Functions

Built-in protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage and short circuits.

8.Power Supply & Auxiliary Functions

Powered by storage batteries. Acoustic and visual alarms activate simultaneously during operation to ensure safe running. Equipped with a communication interface compatible with MES intelligent manufacturing systems.
