The four-wheel independent drive transfer cart is an omnidirectional electric transfer cart, capable of flexible steering and movement in all directions on the spot. It is an ideal handling solution for narrow production workshops and warehouses. Recently, we provided a four-wheel drive omnidirectional transfer cart with lifting function for a Japanese customer. The customer's challenge was that oil drums were placed on fixed, non-adjustable and very low shelves. They needed a transport cart that could drive under the shelves and remove the oil drums. Many manufacturers consulted by the customer failed to solve this problem. The requirements included four-wheel drive, ultra-low platform, lifting function, trolley size of 2400*1600, and an overall cart height of only 400 mm. We developed and designed an ultra-thin lifting omnidirectional cart for the customer. With its ultra-thin design, it can drive under the shelves, lift 200 mm on the basis of meeting all the above technical requirements, and successfully solved the customer's handling problem.

The omnidirectional movement of such equipment is usually based on two core technologies:

• Mecanum Wheel Technology: The most mainstream solution. With freely rotating rollers around the wheels, the cart can move forward/backward, sideways, diagonally, and rotate 360° on the spot, moving flexibly in narrow spaces.
• Multi-Wheel Coordinated Steering Technology: Some equipment adopts an independent all-wheel steering system to achieve similar omnidirectional movement.
• The lifting function is realized by an integrated hydraulic system or motor-driven gantry, which can lift pallets and goods smoothly to a designated height.

In addition, the equipment is generally equipped with automatic navigation systems such as laser navigation, SLAM navigation or visual navigation, enabling precise positioning and unmanned operation.
